Velocity Racing SODI Karts Deliver Strong Results at SKUSA SuperNationals 27
Velocity Racing SODI Karts Deliver Strong Results at SKUSA SuperNationals 27
The Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 (November 19-23, 2024) at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway once again proved why it’s the crown jewel of North American karting. For the newly rebranded Velocity Racing (formerly SODI USA), the event highlighted the continued competitiveness of SODI chassis across multiple categories – with particularly standout performances in Pro Shifter and Micro Swift.
Pro Shifter: SODI Karts Lead the Charge
The headline Pro Shifter class saw SODI USA drivers at the forefront all week:
-
Senna Van Walstijn earned pole position in qualifying, demonstrating the raw speed of the SODI chassis.
-
Teammate Emilien Denner battled near the front throughout the 25-lap Final, ultimately securing a hard-fought 3rd place podium finish.
-
SODI karts led 18 of 25 laps in the main event, proving their capability against factory-backed teams.
“The SODI was phenomenal all weekend,” said Denner post-race. “We had the pace to win – just needed a bit more luck at the end.”

Micro Swift: Back-to-Back SuperNats Wins for SODI
The Micro Swift class (ages 8-12) has become a SODI stronghold:
-
Zayne Burgess dominated the event, winning all three heat races before taking a commanding victory in the Final.
-
This marks the second consecutive year a SODI kart has won Micro Swift at SuperNats.
-
Burgess’ win capped a perfect season that included the 2024 SKUSA Pro Tour championship.
The result underscores SODI’s growing reputation as the chassis of choice for developing young talent.
Across the Paddock: SODI’s Depth Shines
While the podiums grabbed headlines, SODI karts showed impressive depth:
-
Jayden Thien (SODI USA) gained 24 positions in Pro X30 – the biggest mover in the field.
-
Dalton Hanes charged from 25th to 10th in KA100 Senior.
-
Sarah Bradley earned a top-10 finish in the ultra-competitive X30 Junior class.
Why Teams Choose SODI
Talking to crews in the LVMS paddock, three themes emerged about why SODI karts continue gaining ground:
-
Reliability – Zero mechanical DNFs in 25+ lap finals speaks volumes.
-
Adaptability – Competitive in both gearbox (Shifter) and TaG (X30/KA) configurations.
-
Support – Velocity Racing’s trackside engineering made real-time adjustments count.
Looking Ahead to 2025
With SuperNats 27 in the books, Velocity Racing shifts focus to:
-
Winter testing of next-gen SODI chassis updates
-
Expanding their driver development program, particularly in Micro and Junior categories
-
The 2025 SKUSA Pro Tour opener (February 21-23 at NOLA Motorsports Park)
“This was our strongest SuperNats as a team,” noted Velocity Racing’s team manager. “We’re just getting started.”
